Indoor Climbing at Manga π§±π
Our regular indoor climbing sessions are a fantastic way to connect with fellow climbers and hone your skills. We frequently meet at Manga Climbing in Milan https://g.co/kgs/JHedm3D, a fantastic local climbing gym.
How it works: To join a session, simply hop onto our dedicated WhatsApp group π¬. Our members often post asking who’s keen to climb, whether for lead climbing (where you clip the rope into quickdraws as you ascend) or bouldering (climbing shorter routes without a rope, above crash pads). It’s also the best place to find out if someone is bringing a rope η»³ or needs a climbing partner π€.
Using the wall
You can bring your own gear π to Manga, or rent equipment directly at the gym. As a Polimi Alpine Club member, you even get a discount π° on rentals!
Just remember, you’ll need to sign up for our club first and pay a symbolic membership fee β to enjoy these benefits and join our activities.

Outdoor Adventures: From Bouldering to Mixed ποΈπ§ββοΈ
When the weather warms up, our focus shifts to the stunning natural rock faces around us. We organize regular trips to outdoor climbing destinations, embracing a variety of styles:
Bouldering: This exciting form of climbing involves short, challenging problems on large rocks or low walls, typically done without a rope, relying on crash pads for safety. It’s great for power and technique! πͺ
Sport Climbing: This involves climbing routes with pre-placed bolts for protection, making it accessible and focusing on movement and strength.
Traditional (Trad) Climbing: Here, climbers place their own protective gear (like cams and nuts) into cracks and features as they ascend, removing them on descent. This requires more skill and a deeper understanding of rock formations. π€
Mixed Climbing: This type of climbing combines rock climbing with ice climbing techniques π§, often on routes that involve both rock and ice sections, frequently using ice axes and crampons.
The type of climbing we do on these trips depends on the group that forms and individual preferences. Our Italian members often organize these trips, kindly sharing carpooling options π. For other destinations, we might travel by train π, bus π, or public transport.
Festivals and Epic Destinations ππ
We love to immerse ourselves in the wider climbing community! We regularly participate in renowned climbing festivals, such as Mello Blocco https://www.melloblocco.it/, which we attended this year. These events are fantastic for meeting other climbers, trying new problems, and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. π€©
Our past adventures have taken us to breathtaking locations like the Dolomites β°οΈ, where we explored the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo area. And what’s next on the horizon? We’re excited to be planning an upcoming climbing trip to the beautiful island of Sardinia! ποΈπΊοΈ
